We are the Eastern Valley Baptist Association. The EVBA is composed of Baptist Churches within the Counties of Hants and Kings in the Province of Nova Scotia, Canada, that are members of the Convention of Atlantic Baptist Churches.
THE OBJECT of the EVBA is to promote the work of Christ’s kingdom within the Association in harmony with the Convention of Atlantic Baptist Churches, including the promotion of fellowship, unity, spiritual prosperity and growth among the churches comprising the Association, reaching out to meet the needs of communities within the two counties and supporting the affiliated Baptist missionary and educational work at home and overseas.
It is time to put a note in your schedule so that on Saturday, November 5, 2016, you will be at Kingswood Camp for the fall session of our Eastern Valley Baptist Association in the morning (8:45 a.m. - Lunch) featuring John Campbell addressing the theme, "Social Media and Pastoral Ethics", as well as introducing the ambitious goals of Acadia Divinity College; plus Nichole Metcalfe who will speak about the dynamic summer at Kingswood Camp; and in the afternoon Elaine Young (Atlantic Regional Director for ALPHA Canada) is eager to present the new generation of ALPHA resources that are now available for use in Canada (1:30 - 3:00 p.m.). Be sure to check the pdf attachment to this email and log on to YouTube to view Run Alpha Today//2016 (Time: 2.29).
At the May 7th 2016 Spring Association Session a Notice of Motion was given, and also posted on the EVBA Web Page, that would radically amend the EVBA Memorandum of Association and By-laws; however, it has been deemed wise to postpone acting on that Notice of Motion until the Canadian Baptists of Atlantic Canada have had time to amend the General Operating Bylaw, and the EVBA Council has had time to engage in an assessment process relating to the EVBA purpose and polity.
As has become our practice, you are encouraged to pre-register for the EVBA Sessions by forwarding this email notice to email@example.com by Friday, October 28, 2016, with the following information for the EVBA Clerk:

Ron Baxter, EVBA Clerk
PS Please feel free to promote the Alpha Presentation among your friends from other Christian congregations and in any inter-church event or ministerial gathering. There is no registration fee; however, it would be helpful to know how many to prepare for; hence the EVBA Pre-registration form includes the Alpha Afternoon. Thanks for your help. RGB
