Falmouth Baptist Church 404 Town Road Falmouth NS, is seeking a student for summer ministry positions! The student will be hired for 14 weeks, 35 hours a week, through a Provincial Summer Student Grant. The Summer Student will work with the Coordinator of Outreach Ministries, to reach out to church and community members. The student will be involved in weekly worship services and also in planning and participating in Vacation Bible School and a number of day camp activities. The student would also be involved with our senior population both within the church and community. The student may also be involved with summer activities within the broader community. We are the Eastern Valley Baptist Association. The EVBA is composed of Baptist Churches within the Counties of Hants and Kings in the Province of Nova Scotia, Canada, that are members of the Convention of Atlantic Baptist Churches.
THE OBJECT of the EVBA is to promote the work of Christ’s kingdom within the Association in harmony with the Convention of Atlantic Baptist Churches, including the promotion of fellowship, unity, spiritual prosperity and growth among the churches comprising the Association, reaching out to meet the needs of communities within the two counties and supporting the affiliated Baptist missionary and educational work at home and overseas.
The 2017 annual EVBA Pulpit Exchange is scheduled for Sunday, April 30th.
The 2017 Spring Association Session is scheduled for Saturday, May 6th, at the Falmouth Baptist Church with onsite registration beginning at 8:30 a.m. for an 8:55 a.m. start and a concluding lunch by 12:30 p.m.
The 2017 Fall Association Session is scheduled for Saturday, November 4th. Further information TBA.
On Saturday, May 6, 2017 the Spring Session of the Eastern Valley Baptist Association will be hosted by the Falmouth Baptist Church (404 Town Road, Falmouth, NS). The doors will be open by 8:15 a.m. in order to register attendees at the door. However, if you choose to pre-register via email you may use the "fast track" and simply identify yourself, pick up your name label and your copy of the Report Book when you arrive at the church.
The Spring Association Program will begin at 9:00 a.m. in the historic sanctuary of the Falmouth Baptist Church. There will be songs of praise, an opportunity for sharing, a time for prayer, an offering in support of your Association, and the theme speaker will be Jeff Manion via a video entitled "The Land Between." In the context of this presentation Jeff will share some insightful principles that you can employ when "Dealing with Discouragement." Jef Manion has authored three books: The Land Between, Satisfied, and Dream Big - Think Small. For over thrity years he has served with the Ada Bible Church in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He and his wife Chris have three adult children and consequently grandchildren as well. You are encouraged to come on the morning of May 6th to hear what he has to share and to meet friends from neighboring Baptist churches at our spring Association session.
Your Association Council has designated the last Sunday in April for the annual Eastern Valley Association Pulpit Exchange. Already five pastors and their congregations have registered. We hope that you and your church will choose to participate in the April 30th celebration, and the next Saturday, come together for the Spring Session of the Association at Falmouth Baptist Church.
